Uyghuristan, also called Xinjiang or East Turkistan, is a region located in northwestern China. It borders Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Mongolia. It is a predominantly Muslim region of China, of which the population consists of ethnic Uyghurs. It is currently experiencing an uprising from the ethnic Uyghurs after the uprising in Tibet.
