Uyghurstan, (formerly called Xinjiang, a province of the former PRC) or East Turkistan, is a region located in northwestern China. It borders Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Mongolia. It is a predominantly Muslim region, of which the majority population consists of ethnic Uyghurs.
