The Vice President of the Republic of Japan (日本民国副大統領, Nippon Minkoku Fukudaitōryō) is the second-highest-ranking officer of the executive branch of the Government of Japan, after the President. The Vice President is also a member of the legislative branch, as they are the ex officio presiding officer of the Senate, and is in this capacity referred to as the President of the Senate (参議院議長, Sangi'in Gichō).
