October, 2014

October 16, 2014: Volkstaat becomes 5th full member of the AEC - Afrikaner Vryheidsvlag New Britain Flag 3 SPRINGBOK, Volkstaat: After many months of negociations and work on integrating Volkstaat into the customs union, which will allow for easier access to trade with other nation in the economic bloc, Volkstaat finally joined the African Economic Community as a full member. The move is seen as a way to safeguard the economic future of Volkstaat and bring it clopser to the culturally similar nation of the Cape of Good Hope.

The day is also historic for another reason, for it saw the first use of the new parliament building, called the Nuew Raadsaal after the old parliament of Transvaal. Indeed effort was made to build the parliament building as similar as possible to the old building, and according to sources, the architecture does resemble historical pictures of the Ou Raadsaal.

September, 2014

September 26, 2014: NUSA officially disbands - Afrikaner Vryheidsvlag Flaggenentwurf 7 Südwestafrika 1914 Voortrekker flag KwaZulu flag 1985 Flag of Lesotho SPRINGBOK, Volkstaat: Today, the Article for the Dissolution of the New Union of South Africa was signed by all 5 member states in what is commonly seen to be the end of an era in the former South African region. The five nations move apart amiably from each other and have made promises to maintain close relations with each other. However, it is commonly felt within the communities of the western nations that comprised the now former NUSA that their time as a collective had come to an end, as they began to become more sidelined with the rising influence of KwaZulu.

It is unsure in which directions the individual nations will head, although it seems the western nations will gravitate toward the New British-led African Economic Community. It is unsure the direction the other states, especially KwaZulu, willl head in the region, with the nation maintaining good relations with both New Britain and the Azanian League. Sources say there is a strong call to walk a middle path, and not side with either bloc, in the process receiving investments from both sides.

September 18, 2014: Talks of dissolution begin - SouthAfricaDoomsday SPRINGBOK, NUSA: The five member states of the New Union of South Africa have come together to discuss if it is time to disband the New Union. Although relations between all four countries are amiable, it is believed that this discussion was triggered by Volkstaat wishing to distance itself from the member states with sources believing the reason being the feels it is under-represented in issues.

August, 2014

August 3, 2014: Rumblings for euqality felt Flag of the Orange Free State BLOEMFONTEIN, Orange Free State: With the growth of the Orange Free State's economy and the changing dynamics in the region, there is now a greater call by the coloured peoples for a more fairer representation. Many have argued, according to sources in the government, that the coloureds "are more closer to whites than blacks" and thus "should be treated as such".

The government of the Free State remains defensive over the situation, and the government has used heavy force to disperse small rallies organised by the various groups -ensuring that such protests do not take frenquenty and if they do at all, the protestors are often put in jail for a few days at a time. WCRB sources have often condemned such actions but remain powerless to make an impact.

June, 2014

June 15, 2014: Victory for the Greens! Flag of Colombia BOGOTÁ, Colombia - The second round of presidential elections in the Republic of Colombia have come to an end, and, after the voting process, the results have been made public. The clear winner of the electoral contest is the new president-elect, Sergio Fajardo Valderrama, who has been elected with a resounding 62% of votes - leaving his main opponent, Óscar Iván Zuluaga, behind with only 36%. Fajardo has promised a quick and efficient response to several problems for Colombia, running on a platform completely opposed to corruption, and putting education, improved healthcare and inter-American cooperation first in his long list of priorities. Fajardo and his vice presidential formula, Clara López Obregón, have managed the first victory for the Colombian left in recent history.

May, 2014

May 25, 2014: First Round of Elections Inconclusive Flag of Colombia BOGOTÁ, Colombia - The first round of presidential elections has occurred today, and no candidate has achieved an outright majority of 50%+1 of the suffrage. The closest to achieve this is Green candidate Sergio Fajardo Valderrama (42%), followed by Óscar Iván Zuluaga (28%), Clara López Obregón (13%), Marta Lucía Ramírez (8%), votes in blank (6%) and Horacio Serpa Uribe (3%). The elections showed the rightist government of incumbent president Álvaro Uribe Vélez, who oversaw the expansion of Colombian power in East Panamá and the Isle of Coiba, be less popular than the leftist forces looking for more peaceful integration, as had been proven by the victory of leftist forces in legislative elections in March.

April, 2014

April 9, 2014: GWSA and Waterboersland become Observers - Flaggenentwurf 7 Südwestafrika 1914 Voortrekker flag New Britain Flag 3 PORT ELIZABETH, New Britain: In an historic occasion, the nations of German South West Africa and Waterboersland have both become observers within the African Economic Council. Such a move is believed to be in part due to the desire of both nations to distance themselves from NUSA in a similar fashion as to Volkstaat. The governments of the two new nations have begun work to enter the common customs zone for AEC members.

April 2, 2014: 8.2 Earthquake hits northern Chile Flag of Chile A mighty 8.2-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of northern Chile late Tuesday, triggering small landslides, cutting power and generating a tsunami that spawned waves of up to 2.11 metres and hits the coasts of Iquique, Pisagua and Arica. March 23, 2014: Upington falls to Volkstaat Forces - Afrikaner Vryheidsvlag SPRINGBOK, Volkstaat: In a campaign lasting more than a week, Volkstaat Defence Forces have pushed into the last major warlord centre to the north of the nation. Upington fell in the early morning of the 23rd, allowing Volkstaat to extend its influence farther north. There also seems to be some interest of an official border conference between Volkstaat, Waterboersland and New Britain to finally iron out which nation receives what. Sources within the government have indicated that a stimus package will soon be created for the reconstruction and expansion of the city for it to be able to house more people along with restarting farms and the main railway station. There also seems to be plans to create a proper railway route between all centres of Volkstaat.

The Green Party and its closely affiliated Democratic Alternative Pole have gotten around 40% of the seats in Congress, while the Liberals and Conservatives, the traditional parties, have scooped another 23% and 21%, respectively.  Podemos got a paltry 14% of the vote, while the Unión Patriótica, the MIRA Movement and other movements did not get enough votes for representation. These elections will lead to the occupation of 75% of the Colombian parliament, while 5% are designated to minority parties and 20% to representatives from the Left.

February, 2014

February 25, 2014: Volkstaat becomes an Observer - Afrikaner Vryheidsvlag New Britain Flag 3 PORT ELIZABETH, New Britain: Volkstaat today signed the charter of the African Economic Community, joining the Economic Union as an observer member. This move is seen as a response to public pressure which has convinced the government to pursue a greater focus with nations such as New Britain and distance itself from NUSA. Many in the nation have begun to feel the nation is under represented in current LoN politics while the majority white nation is becoming more sidelined in NUSA due to KwaZulu's majority black population. German South West Africa and Waterboersland seem to be mirroring these sentiments and there are rumours both of theser nations have begun discussions to join the AEC as observer members as well.

February 14, 2014: "Valentine Union" between the People's Republic and Gansu Flag of Gansu-dd Flag of the People's Republic of China TIANSHUI, PRC: In an historic move which is characterising the re-emergence of the power of the People's Republic in former mainland China, the former nation of Gansu is to become part of the People's Repiublic once more. The territories of the nation will be administered as a territory of the People's Republic at present, however work is already under way to create new provinces out of the territory for full "representation" of the former peoples of Gansu.

While the big goal for Kazakh expansion on South Kazakhstan, Shymkent, is still controlled by warlords, the Kazakh Khanate has now expanded to Arys, some 76 km from the former border, without counting the de facto Bukharan holdout in Shardara, officially Kazakh.

January, 2014

January 26, 2014: Republic Day Parade - UIP Flag DELHI, UIP: Today the UIP celebrated its achievements in its Republic Day parade. It marks the first republic day parade since 1983 that a government in Delhi has control over the region of what was formerly North East India. On show are much of the tried and tested equipment that took part in Operation Dissolution and crowds cheer as the veterans of the campaign march past. It seems perhaps the fortunes for the sub-continent as a whole may finally be rising as a greater emphasis is now beginning to be placed in inter-state trade.

January 15, 2014: Movement of Armies in Kazakhstan - Kazakh Khanate Bandera de Khiva abans 1917 Flag of the Emirate of Bukhara TURKESTAN, Kazakh Khanate - Earlier joint moves by the Khanates of Kazakhstan and Bukhara seem to have yielded fruit, as today official Kazakh newsletters have seemed to declare the defeat and annexation of the Shaulder warlord gang, 16 km off the border of the Khanate. This seems to be a move in order to reach and annex Arys, an important pre-Doomsday railway hub. Meanwhile, Bukharan troops flying the Kazakh and Bukharan flags have stormed and taken over the lake town of Shardara, on the border with Bukhara, for the Kazakh Khanate.

January 8, 2014: Regroupement des Gevaudan, Military Launches a Coup - RoG Flag MENDE, The Military launches a coup against the Government. The Council is executed by the Military Leaders, who establish a Junta over the Nation, forcing Political Opposition underground.

Khiva has also seemed to increase the alertness in its southern border, where Old Urgench seems to be the goal. The military movements of these nations seem to indicate a wish for larger manpower reserves by these two small nations.

January 6, 2014: Talks of OFS and Heiligdom unification begin - Flag of the Orange Free State <Flag of Heiligdom> BLOEMFONTEIN, Orange Free State: Discussions have begun between the Orange Free State and Heiligdom on a potential unification between the nations. The move is seen due to popular opinion in Heligdom supporting unity with the other white supremecist state in the region.
