October 2nd, 2012: Vice-Presidential Debate: Flag of Superior MACKINAW CITY, Superior - Tonight the four vice-presidential candidates had their turn behind the podiums. Congressman Dan Meyer of Gogebic representing the Conservatives, Congressman Michael Lahti of Houghton for the Liberal Democrats, Senator Mike Prusi of Marquette appearing for the Socialists, and Territorial Commissioner Frank Lasee of Kewaunee for the National Republicans were all in attendance.

As expected by pundits, each candidate concentrated on issues favored by both their own specialties, and that of their party, primarily involving helping the economy. Meyer advocated a tax cut for corporations, stating that it would help rebound the economy. Lahti brought up the concept of a tax credit for those with children in daycare. As expected, Prusi spoke on labor extensively, and advocated an increase in the minimum wage. And, in a typical fashion, Lasee demanded the end of minimum wage legislation.

Most of them came across as being rather respectful, and not overly emotional. Commissioner Lasee, however, according to most pundits, seemed rather uncaring.

Both the Conservative and National Republicans supported both measures, while the Liberal Democrats and Socialists only supported the former of the two.

Despite all that has changed in this world, for the better, or the worse, since that day, it is worth remembering what has not changed - the human spirit, and how it carried us through those dark days, and still aids us even today - and will do so in the future. And, god willing, prevent such a disaster from ever occurring again."

August 30th, 2012: Conservative Vice Presidential Candidate Declared; Convention Closed: Flag of Superior CRYSTAL FALLS, Superior - After the heated horse-trading of yesterday evening, the vice-presidential voting this afternoon went by easily. Indicating the reason for the late endorsement yesterday, Kelleher nominated Congressman Dan Meyer - a close ally of "kingmaker" Huuki - for the lower half of the ticket. At the same time, supporters of Weston's nominated Senator Pettalia for the role - indicating the reason for that endorsement, as well. Congressman Meyer was easily nominated on the first ballot.

Afterwards, Governor Seratti called the convention to a close, and wished the newly-nominated pair luck in the election, calling for the nation to "put the past behind us."

August 29th, 2012: Conservative Presidential Candidate Declared: Flag of Superior CRYSTAL FALLS, Superior - Following five rounds of voting, ex-Senator Kelleher emerged as the presidential nominee of the Conservative Party this evening. However, contrary to expectations, it was not Senator Pettalia that was the kingmaker. After the first ballot, delegates of the various candidates had moved to those that their candidate had endorsed following their withdrawals from the primaries, leaving those belonging to Pettalia and Congressman Huuki on the sidelines - along with those delegates who had been pledged to Senate Majority Leader Tom Casperson.

On the next ballot, Casperson's delegates, being from Chippewa, went over to Kelleher, likely with permission from Casperson, giving Kelleher a total just short of victory. Yet, on the next ballot, Pettalia endorsed the Vice-President, continuing the stalemate, with both men just barely short of the needed total. Huuki, however, endorsed Kelleher on the next, and final ballot - giving him victory.

One of the two is likely to be the winner of the nomination. The keynote speaker, Senator Pettalia of Mackinaw, is likely to play the role of "kingmaker" this time around.
