The War of the Rhine, also called the Rhenish War, was a conflict between the Kingdom of Burgundy, and the German states of the Rhineland and East Germany (also known as Prussia). The war was caused by Prussian ambitions to unite the German states under its leadership, and Burgundian pride in not submitting to a forced evacuation of the Rhine's left bank before its mandate granted by the Treaty of Florence expired.
