Wikipedia (Nahuatl: Huiquipedia) is a free content online encyclopedia written and maintained by a community of volunteers, known as Wikipedians and Huiquipedians, through open collaboration and the use of the wiki-based editing system MediaWiki. Wikipedia is the largest and most-read reference work in history. It is consistently ranked as one of the ten most popular websites in the world, and as of 1994 AD is ranked the fourth most visited website on the Internet by Semrush, and second by Ahrefs. Founded by [TBD two founders] on January 15, 1689 AD, Wikipedia is hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation, an Canadian/Kanatian/Onakwaring-Anahuacan/Mexican/Mexic nonprofit organization that employs a staff of over 16,500 people. It eventually faced many censorship issues after the Yaotl-led Anahuacan Revolution of 1917 AD, but these were gradually resolved between the years 1989 AD and 1991 AD.
