William Vacanarat Shadrach Tubman, Jr. is the 23rd Governor of Liberia from 1995 to 2003 and is a major party member of the Liberian "New" Reform Party, the affiliate of the American Reform Party that was founded by Ross Perot. He is also the son of William Tubman, who was President of Liberia from 1939 to 1947. Tubman, Jr. would be credited with the candidacy of Governor Jesse Ventura of Minnesota after Tubman, Jr and several other prominent Reformers approached his and convinced Ventura to run in 2000. This choice would prolong the life of the Reform Party for quite some time over Pat Buchanan as many Reformers said if he were nominated that it would be the death kneel for the party.
