Duchess Woizlawa Feodora of Lippe (née of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, 17 December 1918 - 3 June 2019) was the Duchess of the United Baltic Duchy (1969-1981) and then of Latvia (1981-2014). Her combined reign lasted over 45 years and various Prime Ministers. In her reign, Estonia (then Estland and North Livonia) seceded from the Baltic Union, and saw Latvia gain greater autonomy within the German sphere of influence. She is widely seen one of the best Latvian leaders.
After a constitutional adjustment that abolished the Salic succession, Woizlawa became Duchess after a 21-day period of regency led by Prime Minister Walter Zapp.
In 2008, at the age of 90, she gradually stepped away from official duties, before appointing her son Karl as regent in 2011. She abdicated on the 2nd of July, 2014, in favour of Duke Karl.
