World War II, or the Second Great War, was a major conflict spanning most of the world.
Overview[]
On October 3, 1936, Britain invades Denmark, after Denmark allowed German ships to dock at Copenhagen, causing Sweden, Norway, and all the Axis Powers to declare war on the British Empire. The rest of the Allied Powers declare war on the Axis Powers. This was the beginning of World War II.
The Soviets use this as an advantage to invade Poland and the Baltic states, and declare war on the Axis. Germany and Poland are able to push back the Soviet advance, and in three months, invade Moscow. The Soviet Union's government is pushed back into Siberia.
On the Western Front, France and Germany have invaded the Low Countries (the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg), and have set up puppet governments supportive of the Axis Powers. Denmark has been invaded by Sweden and Germany, driving out the British.
Japan uses the USSR's situation to its advantage, and invades its eastern lands.
On February 24, 1938, the US, Germany, France, Sweden, and Norway all invade the United Kingdom, and Ireland invades Northern Ireland. Britain surrenders on August 1, 1938, after several months of guerrilla warfare by the remaining British troops and many of its civilians.
On September 15, 1938, Britain is split up into England, Scotland, and Wales, all three occupied by Germany, the US, and France. Germany, Spain, Italy, and France take most of the former British colonies, while Canada, Australia and New Zealand become independent nations. Japan annexes the Philippines and New Guinea, while the Dutch lose the rest of Indonesia to Germany and France.
In March of 1939, the Treaty of Berlin is signed between all the belligerent nations, establishing the Axis powers as the new world powers of the world.
