World War II, also known as the Second World War and commonly abbreviated as WWII or WW2, was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1943. It

included most of the world's countries, including every single great power, that formed two opposing alliances: the Allies (comprised of the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, and the United States), and the Axis (comprised of the German Reich, the Kingdom of Italy, the Empire of Japan, and the Russian Empire, which was reformed after the Soviets collapsed in 1943). Other countries also allied themselves with those previously mentioned, like the Polish, French, and other countries with governments in exile fighting alongside the Allies. Countries like Hungary, Romania, the Slovak Republic, and even Bulgaria fought alongside the Axis powers.

The countries participating in this war threw their entire economical, scientific, and industrial capabilities behind the war effort. Aircraft, without a doubt, played a major strategic role in the war, with strategic bombings of population centers leaving a devastating impact on the world. The Second World War is, without a doubt, the bloodiest war the world has ever seen, and resulted in Axis victory. This victory resulted in the German Reich gaining control of most of Europe, and the Japanese Revolution. However, the Germans' victory would not last forever, as they would be defeated by the Russian Empire during the Russo-German War, restoring the great powers and reducing Germany to a small, insignificant state. The Japanese Revolution ended poorly for the Japanese, as communists gained prominence in the area and, without Germany to defend them, collapsed. It would take the combined effort of the Russian Empire and the United States to rid Japan of communist influence.

World War II changed the world forever. Countries fell and new countries rose. The Soviet Union's collapse and the execution of their officials ensured that communism was washed out by a rising pro-imperialist Europe, and any country with any communist desires were crushed by the Russian Empire. This war cemented the Russian Empire as the world's greatest power, earning the title of the Great Protector of Europe. Tsar Dmitri I became an international hero, being one of the few from being so despised, to being so loved in less than a year. Countries like the United Kingdom and France would be restored and would keep their overseas territories, while Italy would lose them to the ever-expanding Russians.
