The Years of Chaos (German: Jahre des Chaos), also referred to as the Second Austrian Civil War (German: Zweiter österreichischer Bürgerkrieg), was a period of terrorist activity that took place from October 1996 to May 2007.
In October 1996, taking advantage of the chaos caused by the U.S's and NATO's collapse, Neo-Nazi insurgents started a campaign of guerilla warfare. It ended in May 2007 with the Wiener Neustadt Siege that killed the leaders and releasing tons of Jews held hostage there.
